  • In 2019, before the pandemic, more than 11 million children were food insecure in the U.S.
  • Projections are that 15 million children may have experienced food insecurity in 2020 and 13 million children in 2021. 
  • 50 States and D.C. are home to food insecure children
  • Counties with the highest rates of food insecurity are disproportionately rural. 
  • 80% of the counties with the highest rates of food insecurity are in the South
  • NO COUNTY is free of Child Food Insecurity
