Toots is currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Board of Snack in a Backpack. She is a native of Marianna, Florida and a graduate of Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. She taught school for two years and moved extensively due to her husband's job. Upon moving to the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, Toots was a licensed Georgia real estate agent for 24 years. Upon retirement, she volunteered at the VA nursing home and delivered Meals on Wheels for 7 years. Part-time residents of Blue Ridge, GA for 11 years, Toots and her husband, Dale, moved to Blue Ridge full time in 2014. Toots has been involved with Snack in a Backpack since 2016 and also works part-time. Toots and Dale have three sons and four grandchildren.
Frank has been a resident of Fannin County for 24 years. He is a University of Georgia and John Marshall Law School Magna Cum Laude graduate. As a man living in service of others, he is a retired Juvenile Court Judge, a former Marine Corps Captain who served in Vietnam, a current member of the Marine Corps League, as well as a volunteer cook for First Fruits Ministry. In addition, he is a 30-year teacher of the bible as well as a published author. His most recent book is entitled A Balanced Christian Life. He loves his wife, Pam, and playing duplicate bridge.
Curt moved to Georgia in 2010, after marrying Leslie, his high school sweetheart. They bought a home near Blue Ridge in 2015 and moved here full-time in 2017. Curt has 30+ years of experience in accounting, management, and consulting including non-profit organizations. Curt is currently the paymaster for the local Marine Corps League and is involved in the Toys for Tots program. He also operates Stuart Mtn Tax and Business Services LLC, is CFO of Stay Forever Young Inc., and is a board member of the Steward Mountain Hideaway HOA in Mineral Bluff.
Mary is currently serving as Secretary on the Board of Directors. Mary has lived in Georgia most of her life, attending high school in Marietta and graduating from the University of Georgia. During college summer breaks, she worked in Yellowstone National Park where she met her husband, David who was also from the South. They lived in metro Atlanta for many years where they raised their son and Mary taught elementary school, volunteered with Cub Scouts, Relay for Life, PTSA, and her local church. She also worked as an outdoor educator and day camp counselor at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center. In 2016, they built a home in Mineral Bluff and continue to enjoy the many outdoor activities available in the North Georgia mountains. Mary began volunteering with Snack in a Backpack in 2016 and helps coordinate the wonderful Snack in a Backpack volunteers who live at Blue Ridge Assisted Living.
Jeanie is currently serving as Chairman of the Board for Snack in a Backpack. Jeanie’s career in Information Technology spanned 30+ years where she managed all aspects of IT support. Upon retiring from PPG in July of 2017, she and her husband relocated to Blue Ridge, GA. She has been volunteering at Snack in a Backpack since August 2017 and most recently at Fannin Family Connection. Jeanie is very active at Yoga Over Blue Ridge. She and her husband, Tim. are members of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. Jeanie and her husband reside in Fannin County. They have one son who resides in Arlington, VA. We feel truly blessed to be in Blue Ridge which is such a wonderful, caring, and giving community.
Brian is President of Mundy’s Heating & Air, President of Ranger Community Recreational SB/BB, a Deacon at Hopewell Baptist Church, member of Gideon’s International, and a member of Fannin County Chamber of Commerce. While he was born and raised in Cherokee County, NC (just over the Fannin County line), he has relatives and employees who live in Fannin County. Brian believes that Snack in a Backpack provides an invaluable service to our youth who don't always know when their next meal will come. He wishes all of the surrounding communities had a Snack in a Backpack program.
M.E. "Mike" Nunnally has been a resident of Fannin County for over 10 years. He actively engages in various community organizations and is currently serving as a mentor in Veteran's Court, U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, and the Marine Corps League. Mike is the recipient of the 2018 Phil Forrest Community Service Award which recognizes volunteer efforts within the community. He and his wife, Becky, are members of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church and reside in the Epworth area of Fannin County.
Jeff’s working career spanned 49 years of service including military service, accounting, health-care, consulting, implementation, project management and hospital management experience. He is the current Commandant of the local Marine Corps League detachment, a member of the North Ga Honor Guard, and active in the Marine Corps League’s sponsorship of the Toys for Tots program, as well as other community service programs in Fannin County. He is currently serving as treasurer of Snack in a Backpack. He and his wife Gail are members of Temple Baptist Church and reside in Blue Ridge, GA.
Carl has worked in radio for over 30 years. He took up guitar at 12 years old and still plays in 3 different bands today; including the Rollin’ Bones Band which plays at Snack in a Backpack’s Bringin’ the Blues to Blue Ridge each year. He is a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and has served on the state board for March of Dimes for several years. He has produced several music festivals including the Blue Ridge Blues & BBQ festival. He and his wife Diane have had a cabin in Blue Ridge since 1998 and hope to retire here soon. Carl has been a volunteer with Snack in a Backpack since it’s inception in 2009 and serves as a Board Member Emeritus. He is extremely proud to be a small part of the good things that Blue Ridge does.
Greg has spent 35 years as a home inspector, owning and managing a multi-inspector firm. He also has a 28-year career building and providing rentals in Fannin County. He is a founding member of the Blue Ridge Lodging Association, the Blue Ridge Blues and BBQ Festival, and is a stage and music manager. He is a past Fannin County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and is involved with the Fannin County Special Olympics. He has been a supporter of Snack in a Backpack from the first year.
