Letter from the Executive Director
Thank you for your help in every way that you do...you keep the lights on, the doors open and the snack bags full of food every week. You pack the bags, drive them all over town and help me load and unload the pallets of food. You write a check, make monthly donations, hold a fundraiser for us or make an in-kind donation. You are a wonderful friend to children and we call you a "Snack Angel."
From my first moments of involvement with Snack in a Backpack, I was inspired and encouraged by the spirit of comradery and purpose driving the dozens of volunteers who have a heart for children, that help here every week. It is a joyous whirlwind. Thank you for welcoming me to the Snack team this past summer.
Over the past 14 years, Snack has had hundreds of volunteers, donors, board members, professionals, teachers, business leaders, and long term supporters who have devoted their time, talents and treasure to the mission of Snack in a Backpack. Some of our volunteers remember being hungry when they were children.....something they will never forget. So many people in the community know of the good work done by Snack...just today a man came to fix our office printer and said, "thank you, my daughter gets your bags...it helps." You never know what a family is going through.
Our mission in Snack has not changed. We work to decrease the burden of childhood hunger in Fannin County by providing food insecure families a weekend and school vacation food assistance program. We pledge to be good stewards of any gift you give us to serve the children of Fannin County, whom we have loyally served for over 14 years. We thank you for your help.
